One of the great rivalries in the US Tribes 2 TWL competition was between Rapture and Ascendancy. They would play each other in an official capacity three times with Rapture taking two wins, and Ascendancy one.
This was the first time they played each other and it was on the Base ++ ladder.
Rapture were 12-2 at the time, with their only losses being to the juggernaut of Vanguard.
Ascendancy were 5-0 and someone has told me they knocked off Rapture in a few scrims (whether this was before or after this match I am unaware).
It appeared to be quite an unknown who would come through with the win in this encounter.
T2TV was sort of like an early version of twitch – if players were aware a T2TV cast was happening they could use the T2TV client to watch the match as it happened from a shoutcasters perspective. The game was cut up into small ogg & T2 rec files and then could also be replayed at the conclusion of the match.
The match was shoutcasted by Wonderdog.
