The Hunters game mode was not played very often, although there were a few TWL ladders around for Team Hunters.
In this mode, every time someone died they dropped a flag. You could collect those dropped flags and return them to the ‘nexus’ for points. If someone killed you while you were carrying those flags, you’d drop them all (+ the one you normally drop for dying).
The more flags you returned at once, the larger your score multiplier.
Eg. it’s better to return 8 flags at once than 4 flags, then another 4 flags.
With GREED mode on, you couldn’t return less than 8 flags at once. With HOARD mode on, you couldn’t return anything to the nexus from the 5 minute mark to the 1 minute mark (I think)… which often led to large amounts of flags being available for the end of the match.
Chocotaco put up an Oceanic server for the night and we got a few people on to play. I hadn’t played T2 in a LONG time, and I’m sure it shows. It didn’t help that Dust to Dust was the map we played, which has ultra unforgiving terrain.
So while the demo itself is probably not very remarkable – I wanted to have some demos showing the different game types of Tribes 2. Hopefully at some point I can get a Team Hunters one.. maybe even a Bounty recording ;)
There’s a bit of sound bug at the start too sorry.. it gets better after a few minutes.
